Ugh. And so the frustration has begun.
In my quest to feed my hunger for Lost, I view other blogs (http://thelostdiary.com/), read columns by writers I like (Jeff Jensen, http://ew.com/), and look to Lostpedia for things I missed (http://lostpedia.com/). I do not, however, search for spoilers, which is why I am irritated at the moment.
From time to time, I comment on the items I read online. I did so last night, after I read Jeff Jensen's piece on "The Beginning of the End." I should have known better, but I decided to look through others' comments to see if anyone shared my questions and opinions, or perhaps had intelligent guesses about any of the questions that have arisen.
Mr. Jensen asked readers who they thought the Oceanic 6 might be. To my dismay, roughly 25% of the commenters boasted that there was no need to guess, followed by the alleged names of the 6. Some of them didn't even preface it, just listed the names.
Now, I know - after I saw one person who claimed to hold the answer, I should have just stopped reading those freakin' comments. But I needed something. I kept reading, but only the first few words of each comment. Most of them were stupid questions or observations. One courteous commenter actually put the disclaimer "SPOILER" at the front of their comment.
I'm very passionate about the fact that people shouldn't simply throw information out there and ruin it for the rest of us. If they're that jaded about it, why do they even watch the show anymore? I get it. Obviously, the only way they can feel cool in life is to flaunt that they know something that others don't. Well, ANYONE can find out the information they have - they are not special.
I would love to continue ranting and shout expletives at those unfortunate people. But, the best thing I can do is simply to not read comments anymore.
By they way, if anyone actually ends up reading my blog and comments with a spoiler, I will delete it :)
