What I Knew
- Aha! See, so this is how I thought the season premiere would start - with a flashback of life off the island, from the point of view of some non-Losties.
- I knew the elements of Find815 would find their way into the storyline. I didn't realize that the whole plane would be there. Interestingly enough, it was broken up into three parts, just like it was on the island.
- That whatever Charlotte (Miss Indy Jones) was going to see would have something to do with our island - and boy did it! That Hydra collar(?) was certainly one of the OH! moments of the night.
- That Miss Indy Jones wouldn't be dead. No, I haven't been reading spoilers. I just figured that those people would know better... but why?
What I Should Have Known
- That Naomi was speaking some kind of code when she said "Tell my sister I love her." I figured it meant something that she said that, but I'm not quite bright enough to figure it would have been code.
- That Locke lived because he didn't have a kidney there. I mean, duh, I knew he only had one (ok, well, I kind of forgot), but was so distracted by the whole magical island thing that I didn't even consider the missing kidney.
- That Sayid and Juliet would catch up to Jack and Kate. Hello! Otherwise, what was the point of their conversation about having guns? I was not very quick tonight.
- That Abbadon was the mastermind behind the crew. I suspected that it was his voice on the other end of the phone when Frank called Oceanic.
- That freakin' Ben would know exactly who theose people were. Ben knows everything. I really should know that by now!!!
What I Want to Know
- Why was Daniel Faraday crying when he found out about the discovery of Oceanic 815? He did seem like a bit of a sissy.
- What do Essex, MA, Inglewood, CA, Tunisia, and the Bahamas have in common?
- Are the names of the four crew members anagrams for anything?
- Why was there a gas mask in that trunk? Since they're looking for Ben, is it because they know about the Purge, and they're prepared for something similar?
- Who is the grandson that Miles is hunting in Inglewood? The pictures on the wall certainly looked like young Eko.
- Why did Miles need/want all the money that was in the vent? And what was the powder stuff that he rejected? I'm guessing it was drugs, but why didn't Miles want that?
- Why doesn't Charlotte believe that Flight 815 has been found? What does she already know at that point?
- What the EFF are the 2 million year old remains of a polar bear doing out in Tunisia - with a HYDRA collar?!?!?!?!
- Why is Charlotte afraid when she sees the group of Losties? Does she think they are natives? Does she recognize Ben right away?
- Is Seth Norris an anagram of something? Why are they using so many first and last names?
- Whose body did they use instead of the pilot's?
- Does Frank Lapidis = Jacob???
- Was that Abbadon on the phone talking to Frank?
- Is this crew of people really all that bad? Do they all know exactly what is going on?
- What does "N842M" mean? It was on the side of the helicopter.
- Who the heck is Abbadon? What did Naomi do that Abbadon thinks she should be the leader of the mission?
- What the HECK is that picture of Ben - from the 70's????!?!?!?!
- Does Ben really not know what the monster is??? Or was he just stunned that John would ask that question and not want to know what was going on?
Other Random Things
- The look on Ben's face when Hurley mentioned the cabin - priceless.
- I bet it didn't take Claire very long to feel bad about bringing Aaron along for all the violence.
- I don't like Miles.
- LOVED when Karl called Ben "Mr. Linus." Ha. Like he deserves being called Mr.
- Great quote #1: "I don't know Miles. How stupid are ya?" - Jack
- I REALLY don't like Miles.
- Great quote #2: "Sure, who are we to argue with Taller Ghost Walt?" - Sawyer
- Uh... looks like Naomi kinda failed her mission.
Again, I'm not really sure how I feel about this episode. They didn't answer a whole lot of questions, but there certainly was some progression of the story (uh, hello Hydra collar!).
The other issue I may be struggling with is the introduction of more sci-fi and paranormal stuff. Yes, it's always been a very important element of the show, but never as blatant as a real-life ghostbuster.
If I Were a Lostie
Hm. This is a toughie. I'm in Locke's camp. I'm seeing Sawyer beat the crap out of Ben. I'm hearing Ben shot Locke. Then there's some new chick who says her team is here to take us away, and Ben tries to shoot her dead. Gosh. Well, first of all, I'd be crying. Then, I'd probably just make a run for it somewhere in between the first and second times that Sawyer gives Ben the 1-2 punch.
